Delbert Andresen

June 1938 to September 2, 2023

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Delbert at his residence in Carman, MB. On September 2, 2023 at the age of 85.

Delbert was predeceased by his parents Herb and Anna Andresen and his nephew Paul Rempel.

He will be greatly missed by his sister Darlene Rempel-Fillion, his niece Kimberly Shaw (Gord Graveline), great niece Sarah Groombridge (Ryan), great niece Karina Shaw and great great niece Natalie Groombridge as well as his only remaining Aunt Chris Krahn and many special cousins and a multitude of friends. Delbert was loved by all who met and knew him.

Delbert was born in Carman, MB. On June 22, 1938 and attended Myrtle school. He farmed with his Dad until 1969/70 when his parents sold the farm. Because of his severe allergies he was unable to continue farming. At that time he bought his little house in Myrtle were he lived until he retired to Carman and moved into the Legion Apts. on June 1, 2013. He worked for Good Roads Hwy Dept in the RM of Roland for approximately 20 yrs until his retirement.

During his retirement he never stopped working and volunteering. While living in Myrtle he maintained the Myrtle Cemetery and took great pride in keeping it in excellent condition. He was also Caretaker of the Fairview Cemetery in Roland from 2010 to 2011. He drove the Roland Handi Van for several years and after moving to Carman he transported people to medical appointments or shopping errands etc. with his own vehicle. Delbert volunteered at the Boyne Lodge in Carman for some time as well. His greatest enjoyment was his friends and the Carman Legion. That was his second family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Delbert had many serious health problems during the past months but never complained. When asked how he was he always said “oh not bad”.

We would like to thank the staff at Carman Home Care for the excellent care that they provided for Delbert the past few years and also the Carman Legion for their support and friendship. It was greatly appreciated.

Cremation has taken place and a service will be held at the Roland United Church on Monday, September 11, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with reception to follow at the Roland Community Hall. Interment will take place in the Myrtle Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Carman Legion or a charity of one’s choice.
