Edwin Harder

Edwin Harder of Winnipeg Manitoba was called to his Heavenly  home May 11th, 6:20am at Riverview Health Centre.

Ed leaves behind his children Mark(Sylvia), Jerry(Laurie), and Cindy(Javier), grandchildren Jordan, Benjamin, Gabriel, Noah, Jonah, Elijah, Roman, Jasmin and Lucas and great granddaughter Hayden.

Ed was born and grew up near Elm Creek, March 10, 1936 to John and Helen Harder(Reimer). He had 7 brothers and 7 sisters.

He was predeceased by his wife, Shirley in October 1999. Also predeceased are 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Ed and Shirley settled in Brandon in 1967 where Ed worked at Simplot for 30 years before taking early retirement when he was 61. Ed made the decision to follow Christ in 1968 and became active in the Mennonite Brethren Church as a Boys Brigade leader. He also was a Gideon and volunteer chaplain for many years playing his guitar and singing. Ed loved to share his Faith with everyone and never ashamed of his belief.

Ed moved to Carman in 2010 enjoying being close to his brother, sister, and other family. In September 2013 with some health issues arising, Ed moved to Winnipeg to live with his daughter and her family until his passing.

Thank you to all who have been a part of his life over the years. He was blessed with friends young and old, near and far.  He will be missed but for those who are in Christ, he will meet again.

Thanks also to Riverview Health Centre for their compassionate care these past 6 weeks.

In lieu of flowers, Donations can be made to International Fellowship of Christian and Jews of Canada, PO Box 670 Station K, Toronto, Ontario, M4P 2H1.
