Leesa Mae Munroe

Gracefully, on Monday February 3rd 2020, Leesa Mae Munroe, 67 years old, departed this world to journey through the pearl laden gates of Heaven.

Leesa is survived by her two children Cole and Chanelle, her father George, siblings Paul, Howard and Julie, 6 wonderful nephews, her lifelong gentleman friend Theo, and her beloved cat Rocky. She is predeceased by her mother Colleen Munroe.  Leesa was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the Grace Hospital on October 29th, 1952. She began her teaching career in 1975 and continued to teach, influence, and inspire her students for over 30 years. In her retirement, Leesa enjoyed the simpler things in life; winter walks at Fort Whyte, swimming in the Brokenhead River, and basking in the hot springs of Lake Manitou. She developed a passion for genealogy and loved learning about the Old Ways of her ancestors.

Leesa was the true expression of elegance, refinement, and beauty. Everyone who knew her was touched by her love, generosity and white light. May her Spirit swim eternal in the Medicine Waters of the Brokenhead.

The family wishes to thank Dr.Gerges, Dr.Kumar, Dr.McClure, Dr.Peterson, and all the loving nurses at Riverview Care.

A private funeral service and celebration of life will be held in Leesa’s honour.

Donations can be offered to Fort Whyte Nature Center.

...Blue lakes and rocky shore, I will return once more...

To George, and family,
My name is Elaine Vandermeulen, I was Elaine Blanchard. I used to attend Church of Christ, and being friends at that time with Leesa and Cory, because they used to be at their Grandma Bulmers. Also I stayed at your house in Winnipeg once, must have been during a Young People's outing.
So sorry to read of Leesa's passing...may her family and her siblings find comfort in the many memories you have. My sister Shirley Nyrose goes to Church of Christ in Calgary, and if I'm not mistaken I think I met Elda's?? husband there this summer.
Thinking of you all
Sincerely, Elaine Vandermeulen (nee Blanchard from Carman)
