    MARGARET ELIZABETH GRAHAM

Margaret Elizabeth Graham passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2020. She was born to Elgin and Mary Bartley in Carman, Manitoba on July 19, 1923. On June 30, 1943, she married Gilbert Gordon (Bud) Graham (1920-2008) and, together, they farmed near Roland, Manitoba all their lives. She is survived by her daughter Judy (Bill, 1948-2018) and their sons Terry (Michele) and his children Jessika, Nathan, and Levi; Michael (Marlo) and their children Graham and Sandra; Ryan (Erin) and their children Jackson, Georgianna, and Briella. She is also survived by her son John (Janice) and their son Gene (Darcelle) and their children Griffin and Julie.

At a very young age, Margaret learned to play the piano by ear and before she graduated from Grade 12 at Roland High School, achieved Grade 7 Manitoba Conservatory Piano. She began playing for Roland United Church Sunday School at age fourteen and soon after, was playing the pipe organ for church services in the sanctuary.   Throughout her marriage, she accompanied not only her husband’s voice solos, but also those of many others. Wherever there was a need – for bands, choirs or concerts, Margaret delighted in sharing her giftedness.

She was a member of the United Church Women and was the head leader of Canadian Girls in Training for five years.  Her gentle ways, compassionate and caring heart, wisdom and understanding, and wonderful love and kindnesses will be missed by many, especially her family.  Throughout her lifetime she loved and served the Lord God and His Son. Now she has attained her ultimate reward in heaven and, for that, we are so thankful.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Roland United Church with Rev. Ken Thomas officiating. Interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Roland. Memorial donations may be made to the Carman Hospital Palliative care, Box 610, Carman, MB R0G 0J0 or to Boyne Valley Hostel Corp (Capital Fund), Box 1644, Carman, MB, R0G 0J0.
