Marci Joanne Mutcher, age 57 years of Carman, Manitoba passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, September 29th 2019 at Carman Memorial Hospital. Marci was predeceased, by her Father Fred Gould. She will be lovingly remembered by her two children Taylor (Colin) Nicolajsen and Scott Atkins. She took her role as a Grandma very seriously and adored her two grandson's Reid and Barrett. She is also remembered by her Mother Trudy Svboda (Dave Allinson) and her four siblings- Barb Pethybridge, Blaine Gould (Lois), Donna Bruce (Doug) and Sandra Yeo (Glenn), brother-in-law Jack Pethybridge and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Mom was born in Carman, Manitoba on April 11th, 1962. Mom grew up on the family farm north east of Carman. After high school she went on to complete her hair stylist training in Winnipeg.  Her hair styling continued evenings and weekends at home while she worked at Linear Grain for over 20 years. She truly enjoyed the farming conversations and always knew how much rain everyone had.  Mom enjoyed animals (especially horses), snowmobiling, camping, curling and golf in her younger years.  When Mom wasn't at the office, she enjoyed refinishing furniture - she had a knack for giving something old a brand-new look. Much to her family’s frustrations the last few years Mom also seemed to love moving. However, she gained a new friend with every new neighborhood and campground.

One of Mom's greatest joys was watching her two children play hockey all over the province. It was obvious how much she loved the rink life and how proud she was of her kids both on and off the ice.  It was very common for mom to be watching a hockey game at any hour of the day. She was definitely a dedicated Jets fan. She also thoroughly enjoyed looking after her yard and garden. One of her favorite tasks was to mow the lawn.

The family would like to thank the staff at Boundary Trails Cancer Care, Carman Memorial Hospital, Carman Palliative Care and all the friends and family that have shown their love and support through this difficult time.

A celebration of life will be held at Carman Community Hall on October 3rd at 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba or Carman Palliative Care.
