Marilyn Jean Cormack

After many months of cancer treatment, Marilyn passed away peacefully at the Carman Memorial Hospital.  However she lived those months with hopeful optimism, enjoying many cheerful moments with her friends, family and health providers.

She was born in Halcomb (Miramichi), New Brunswick with the family moving to Moncton in 1945.  After completing her education at Moncton High School, she spent several years in Toronto and Sudbury.  She then settled in Hamilton where she worked in office administration and enjoyed the company of close family members.  After her marriage to Al, they spent several years in Winnipeg before moving to Carman in 2008.  She enjoyed cooking and gardening with a particular love for her fellow volunteers at the reputable Carman MCC thrift shop, and a deep appreciation for the many kind neighbours in her community.

Marilyn was predeceased by her first husband, Ralph Sellors, as well as her parents, Gail and Harvey Johnstone.  She is survived by her loving husband, Al, sisters Diane Almstedt (John), Ottawa; Elizabeth Burke (Dennis), Ancaster; Karen Colburne (Gerry, dec, Sudbury); brothers Bob (Liz), Hamilton; and Charles in Mississauga.

Marilyn has requested that there be no funeral service. Memorial donations can be made to the Carman Palliative Care or to the Boyne Lodge Building Fund in Marilyn’s memory.
