Wildfang Doris obit photoDoris Evelyn Wildfang

It is with heavy hearts but loving memories that we announce the passing of Doris Evelyn Wildfang on April 10th, 2018. Doris was born in Winnipeg, MB, on March 31st 1925, the daughter of William and Elsie (nee House) Kirk. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Joanne Scott (Jason), her grandchildren Jaden, Mason, and Tyson and Jason’s son Blade, along with her brother William (Mary) Kirk and their children Kitt and Douglas. Doris was predeceased by her parents and her nephew David.

After living in Winnipeg for the first few years of her life, Doris moved with her family to Toronto, ON and later Baie-d’Urfe, Quebec. She married Robert Ibberson and they made their home in Ile Perrot, Quebec where they had their only child Joanne. After her marriage to Robert ended she and Joanne moved to Carman, MB in 1980 where Doris and Orville Wildfang were wed. Sadly, Orville passed a few short years later. The following 25 years she spent with her loving companion Edward Heesaker. They had many adventures together and shared their love of travelling, bowling and their cats. Doris had a kind heart, a gentle spirit and determination to remain in her home with her cats Lucky and Boots until the end. She was granted that wish which makes letting her go to rest much easier. She was an independent and thoughtful woman who will remain in the hearts of many.

A family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.

Our family will never forget her kindness to our Dad , Tommy Knox, during his years overseas in the Second World War . After just a brief meeting in Ottawa she sent parcels and letters which I'm sure was a great help in keeping his spirits up during those years. So wonderful how she remained in touch with our Mom and Dad for the rest of their lives . Quite a coincidence that Doris and Dad passed away in the same year , just three months apart. Sending our thoughts and prayers , Joanne , at this sad time .
