Kehler Donna front of CardDonna Mae Kehler (nee Neufeld)

Peacefully on Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Carman Memorial Hospital, Donna Kehler aged 68 years passed away.

She is survived by her husband Harvey, son Jason (Laura) and their children Paisley and Wyatt; daughter Lindsay Gagne (Cedric) and their daughter Kaia.

Throughout her life, Donna was involved in Hospital Auxiliary and Women’s groups as well as being a part of her church community.  Donna spent many hours cooking and baking and bringing lunches to the farmers in the field.  She worked hard all her life, as a librarian, secretary, and at the bank.

Reading was one of Donna’s passions and so when she wasn’t busy working, you could often find her curled up with a good book.  Donna was also a great observer, both of people and of the world around her.  She loved to sit in her driveway and just watch people coming and going.  Donna had a quiet presence and an open, non judgmental way about her which made people feel at ease.  Donna was kindness, she was strength, she was courage and bravery.  She will be deeply missed.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Carman United Church.  Private family interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery Columbarium, Carman.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Woelke, Dr. Johnston, Dr. Dhaliwal, Dr. Villeda and the staff at Boundary Trails Hospital and especially the care she received at the Carman Hospital in her last days.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Carman Palliative Care.

Dear Harvey and all the family,
We are so saddened to hear of Donnas passing, and doubly so when we can’t be there to attend her funeral.
Donna was one of the strongest and most gentle person I have ever known. Never got in a flap, even though her world seemed turned upside down these past few years! She always had a good word to say, and was concerned for others. God rest her gentle sole.
You have done well Harv!! It’s been s struggle, Hang in, and we will visit when home .

We were shocked, saddened, and so sorry to hear about Donna's passing. While we knew that she was dealing with many issues, we just always assumed that she would be there - dealing with the issues as only she could - with patience and selflessness.

We hope that the love of family and friends will comfort and strengthen you in the days ahead.

Many Hugs
