Park pressClifford Rae Park

Rae passed away on his 74th birthday (August 15th) at the Boyne Lodge with family at his bedside.

He is survived by his wife Betty; sons Jeffery (Karen, Tyler, Carson), and Jason (Colette); sister, Joyce Ross (Jim, Craig (Nolan, Aiden), Marc, Ann (Mike, Kate, Claire).  Predeceased are his parents Irvine and Margaret Park.

Rae was born in Carman Hospital during a very hot harvest season and remained on the family farm until ill health brought us to Meadowood Estates (2015) and Boyne Lodge (2016).

He attended Tobacco Creek and Rosebank Schools. Once he began farming he attended MIT (Red River College) in the winter months studying automotive and diesel mechanics in order to repair his own vehicles and machinery.

In his 40 years of farming with his Dad and then his sons, he experienced innovation and progress with producing various crops, land stewardship and increasingly complex machinery. He became a strong voice for tile drainage, CAT combines and farming on “tracks”. He was extremely proud to leave the farm in his sons’ capable hands and for them to be the fourth generation to carry on.

Rae was a volunteer with Carman Minor Hockey, Corn Growers’ Association, Tobacco Creek Model Watershed and Roland Gasefication committees.

Vacations to Hawaii and Clear Lake to golf were favourite times and provided us with so many great memories.

We are very grateful to the Adult Day Program and personal care and attention provided by the staff of Boyne Lodge.

In lieu of flowers donations to Boyne Lodge, Box 1644,Carman,MB, R0G 0J0 or South Central Alzheimers’Society, 204 Main Street South, Box 119, Winkler, MB R6W 4A4 is appreciated.
