APRIL 11, 1939 – MARCH 31, 2017

Your life was a blessing,

your memory a treasure,

you are loved beyond words,

and missed beyond measure.

Peacefully, with family at her side, March 31st 2017, Darlene Annabelle Reimer (nee Kroetsch) passed away at Boyne Lodge Personal Care Home at the age of 77 years old.

Darlene was born in Nurse Hannah’s Residence in Manitou, MB.  She spent her youth living on the family farm in the Pembina Valley South of Darlingford where her love of animals flourished.

She later moved on to spend her adult life as a mother raising her children and helping raise her grandchildren in Rosebank, MB.  She adored her 7 children and cherished her 16 grandchildren and 15 (soon to be 16) great grandchildren.

Prior to spending her final years at Boyne Lodge, she spent a few years living in Tabor Home Apartments with her little pug, Taz.

Predeceased by her parents, Edward and Esther Kroetsch, brother Barry, sister Suzanne, sister Rosalind, brother-in-law Pete, and great grandchildren Noah and Zachary.

She leaves to mourn her children Marcel (Dianne), Lynda (Ken), Lovie (Gerald), Lori, Sheila (Jerry), Larry (Brenda), Tammy (Gordon), grandchildren, great grandchildren, her brother Wayne (Lorraine), nieces and nephews, as well as numerous relatives and friends.

Private funeral will be celebrated with Jeannie Nickel officiating.  Doyle’s Funeral Home of Carman, MB in care of arrangements.  Her final resting place to be Hillside Cemetery, Morden, MB.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Children’s Hospital of Manitoba, Pembina Valley Humane Society, or HoovesNHound Rescue and Rehab (St. Malo).

Darlene’s children made a promise to their mom that she would always be loved and cared for.  They will keep their promise always.

A special thank you to the Boyne Lodge staff.  A number of you will hold a special place in our hearts for providing excellent care, always keeping mom’s dignity in mind, and offering tenderness and compassion during Darlene’s final days.  We would also like to thank the nurses, and palliative care workers for all their care shown to mom.

The level of professionalism and kindness expressed by Doyle’s Funeral Home has surpassed our expectations, especially by Craig Johnston.  Our family thanks you.

We appreciate everyone’s thoughtful phone calls and messages during this time grieving the loss of an amazing woman.

Little bird, my friend

your wee heart

couldn’t bare,

the thought of

no longer

seeing me there.
