Colpitts Albert orig photoAlbert Arthur Colpitts

 July 9, 1922 – September 1, 2016

Peacefully, at the age of 94, Albert passed away at the Boyne Lodge in Carman.

Albert was born on the family farm south of Sperling and received his education at Tremont school and at the Agriculture school in Brandon. He farmed the family farm until his retirement. Then he moved permanently to his mother’s house in Carman until his move to Boyne Lodge.

He spent his summers on the farm near Sperling and his winters in Carman. He lived there with his mother until her passing in 1985. He was assisted in his farming by the Findlay’s and in his later years by members of the Gyoerick family.

Albert was a great enthusiast of flying and acquired his commercial flying licence. He spent many years as a sprayer pilot. He was extremely lucky to survive three crash landings while spraying.

He liked to travel and covered much of Canada and many states in the USA during his commercial trucking days during the winter. He really enjoyed his trip to Australia and New Zealand and was fascinated with the spraying that was done in New Zealand over hill and dale.

Albert was an affable person who had many friends and loved to visit folks and have them visit him. He enjoyed being in the Lodge with people around him.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

A funeral was held on September the 8, 2016 at Doyle’s Funeral Home with burial in the Sperling cemetery.

Donations in Albert’s memory may be made to the Boyne Lodge, Box 1644, Carman, MB   R0G 0J0.
