Wayne passed away peacefully at the Morris General Hospital on June 15, 2016 at the age of 94.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Phyllis, in 1983 and his second wife, Viola, in 2015. He is survived by his daughters; Leslie Shearer (Bruce) daughter Stacey Hewitt (Jamie), James and Kira, son Bryan (Jen) Brooklyn and Ben; daughter Judy Boyachek (Dick) son Mark (Heidi) Hayley, daughter Kim Paull (Kal) Jax and Callie, and daughter Debbie Durand (Gerry) sons Kevin, Chris (Sarah) and Vi’s daughter Bonnie Dreger (Ron), daughter Natalie Wall(Chris) children Zeila and Maverick, daughter Tashia and son Travis.

Wayne was born into a family of nine children at Elrose, Saskatchewan.  At the age of twelve he moved to Culross, Manitoba to live with his aunt and uncle Will and Geneva Ross. In 1946 Wayne married Phyllis Foster of Redvers, Saskatchewan. They continued to farm on the Ross farm. In 1979 they built a new home in Elm Creek, Mb. Wayne worked on the cemetery board for 11 years. He was actively involved in the Ripples of the Creek Club. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, woodworking and playing bridge.

In 1986 Wayne married Viola Love and for many years they lived in Elm Creek, and finally moved to Morris.

As per Wayne’s wishes, the funeral and burial will be private. The interment will be at the Elm Creek Cemetery. As a family we wish to thank the Doctors and entire staff of the Morris General Hospital for the compassionate care shown to Dad over the last sixteen months.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Elm Creek Cemetery board.
