Kendall Don orig photo

Peacefully on February 25, 2015 Don passed away at the age of 88.

Don is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 66 years, Helen, his children Janice (Mark), Grant (Tanis) and Ken (Marian). He also leaves to cherish his memory his six grandchildren Jason, Colin, Jennifer, Marcus, Grant and Hollie, seven great grandchildren Chase, Tayla, Langdon, Brayden, Sadie, Porter and Easton. Don also leaves one older brother Raymond (Dorothy).

Don was predeceased by his brothers Ernest, Harold and Max.

Don was born April 30, 1926 in Morden, Manitoba to Katherine and Jacob Kendall. In 1933 the Kendall’s moved to the Starbuck, Manitoba area where they farmed. Don met Helen who lived on the neighboring farm. Their friendship flourished and in 1949 Don asked Helen to be his wife. Don and Helen farmed in the Starbuck area close to where they grew up. As well as farming Don worked at Canada Cement LaFarge in Ft. Whyte.

Don loved his family. He worked hard but always enjoyed taking a break to be with his family. Don loved camping and fishing, and spending time in the sun. Many summer days were spent camping at Norquay Beach, Hecla Island to name a few. Our camping trip to the Black Hills with the Lofto’s and the Johnson’s was most memorable. He especially loved his holidays in Hawaii and Arizona.

His grandchildren and great grandchildren were the joy of his life. He rarely missed an event. He was always there for them with words of encouragement. He always made us feel special. A kind forgiving person always willing to help.

We often heard our father say “I am the richest man in the world because I have my health and my beautiful family” He taught us many valuable life lessons. Thank you dad, grandpa for all the wonderful memories. You will be forever in our hearts.

As per Don’s wishes a family service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 19th at the Starbuck cemetery.
