John B. Fehr husband of Margaret (Unrau) passed away on August 31, 2014 at the Carman Memorial Hospital. John will be sadly missed by his wife Margaret and their children Frank (Debbie), Dorothy (Wayne), Don, Darlene (Bruce), 12 grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren, two Great Great Grandchildren.

John was born March 5, 1930, in Sec. 27-1-5W, Stanley Municipality. He grew up on the farm south of Morden in the Glencross area. John met Margaret Unrau and they were married on June 8, 1952. They were married for 62 years. They also farmed in the Glencross area after they got married until 1956. Then moving to a farm southwest of Elm Creek (Wingham area) till 1960. From there they moved to Carman, John then went to for work for Ross Laycock, a potato farmer until 1977. After that he worked for the Town of Carman until his retirement in 1995.

Dad never farmed long, but he was always a farmer. He loved animals and seeing plants grow. He always enjoyed helping his sons on their farms. He enjoyed playing cards with his family. He was a very adept card player, and did not like to lose. He loved telling tall tales. He will truly be missed and never forgotten by his family and friends.

Funeral service was held from the Carman Mennonite Church on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with interment in the Greenwood Cemetery, Carman. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
