Savage Fran - orig photoFrances passed away peacefully on May 18, 2014 with family by her side.

Fran was predeceased by her husband Kenneth Wilson Savage, parents Charles and Martha Murray, sisters Norma Gibson, Marlene Monteith and brother Gordon Murray.

Fran is survived by her loving children, Murray (Shirley) of Edmonton and Marg (Bob) Mogk of Killarney as well grandchildren Kelly Savage of Edmonton, Jamie (Dawn) Savage of Edmonton, Andrew (Katrina) Mogk of Strathmore, Michelle (James) LaBuc of Red Deer, Deanna (Jason) Verhey of Standard; Great Grandchildren Morgan, Mataya, Teegan, Daemon, Kali, Riley, Jaxon and Willa all of Alberta. Fran is also survived by sister Betty (Don) Dunbar Sager of Morden, Helen Murray of Carman, Elva Savage of Carman, brother Ivan (Irene) Murray of Arizona.

Fran was born March 20, 1928 in Graysville, MB. She married Kenneth Wilson Savage June 19, 1951. Toegther they raised their family on the Savage homestead. They took great pride in their yard and were rewarded with third prize in the provincial home and garden competition in 1972. She was a gardener at heart. Fran was a lifelong member of the Carman United Church, Royal Canadian Legion (Auxiliary), Central Ladies Club, Women’s Section of Dufferin Ag Society, and the Carman Ladies Bowling League.

After retiring from farming, mom and dad enjoyed their time travelling to many places such as Australia, Scotland, England, New Zealand, Hawaii and Canada from coast to coast. In later years she enjoyed golfing with Wednesday Ladies.

A very big thank you to the Carman Boyne Lodge staff for all the care and support you showed to mom. You truly made it “home” for her. A special thank you to Aunt Betty Dunbar Sager and Fran Phillips (dear friend) for all your love and support to mom. Marg, Murray and families thank you to all our family and friends for all the support.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the Carman United Church with Rev. Harold Kenyon officiating. Interment took place in the Greenwood Cemetery, Carman.
