With saddened hearts we announce the passing of Larry Bayliss on Thursday, November 28th, 2013 at the Minnedosa Hospital at the age of 72.

He is lovingly remembered by his son Rick Bayliss (Colleen Steppler) daughter Kelly (Brian) MacDonald, grandson Cory Bayliss (Chantale Dixon), companion Alice McInnes (and her family), 4 brothers Richard (Lenore), Leslie (Maryanne), James (Glenda), David (Fran), 4 sisters Nellie Doerksen, Shirley (Marcus) Burtnick, Carrol (Larry) Raaen, Judy Flack and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

He was predeceased by his parents Richard and Helen Bayliss, 2 brothers Lyle and Clarence, 3 step brothers Murray, Lawrence, and Howard, step sister Helen, sister-in-law Beth and 3 brothers-in-law Roy, Earnie and Orne.

Larry was born in Miami, MB on May 3rd, 1941 were he grew up on the family farm attending the Milton and Miami schools. Larry worked many years on heavy construction equipment working on the cat line in Northern Manitoba, operating the grader for the RM of Thompson and until 2011 running the loader and crushing gravel for Beatty Construction in Erikson, Manitoba. Dad has always enjoyed the outdoors gardening, manicuring his lawn, fishing and working with his son on the farm. Dad was a farmer at heart, starting his own farm near Mt. Nebo and then working for other local farmers in the Miami area. Larry was a friendly, caring person willing to always lend a hand to friends, neighbors and in the community. Dad, “Dude”, Grandpa mostly enjoyed spending time with family. Dad enjoyed traveling the province with Alice, visiting many friends and family and recent adventures to Alaska and California.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Alice who spent her days comforting Dad during his stay in the hospital and to her family for supporting and caring for her during this difficult time. Thank you to all the staff at the Minnedosa Hospital for taking special care of our Dad, Grandpa.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 2nd, 2013, 11:30 am at the Miami Community Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Minnedosa District Palliative Care Service or the charity of your choice.
