Margaret (Peggy) Cruise
July 9, 1927 – November 3, 2012
It is with deepest sorrow that the family of Margaret Cruise announces her sudden passing.
Aunty Peggy as she was known to us was predeceased by her parents Bob & Vietta Cruise, her brother Bill and sister in law Sigrun, nephew Bob and great nephew Dwaine.
Aunty Peggy was born in Winnipeg, she lived and attended school in the Sharon District near Miami Manitoba until she was seven and then moved to the Interlake with her parents. In 1947 she moved to Winnipeg. Her entire work career was with The Canadian Wheat Board from which she retired in 1982. Her spare time was divided between hobbies and interests – woodworking, horseback riding, hunting with her nephews, playing cards and curling. She enjoyed her retirement, spending time with family and friends. Vegas trips were enjoyed for a number of years. Visits to Alberta were frequent to keep in touch with family there. She regularly attended the Lions Place Adult Day Program not wanting to miss a day and taking part in all the extra excursions. Weekly trips to Teulon to visit Yvonne and Sunday dinners at Sharon's with her family were not to be missed. She enjoyed seeing her great great nieces and nephews and loved them so much.
Auntie Peggy is survived by nieces and nephews, Sharon (friend Al), Jack (Yvonne), Viona (Mike), Diane, Lorne (Karen), great nieces and nephews Ryan (Tara), Shawn (Nicole), Keith, Dennis (Cindy), Erin, Michael (Jeanie), Kelly (Jack), Kyle (Stephanie), Ian, Lindsay, Jordan, Braden, Graham and William, as well as eight great great nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by Michael, Laura and Emma. Special thanks to the home care workers who provided her care for the past few years. Donations in memory of Auntie Peggy may be made to the MS Society.
