(nee LENTON)

On Sunday, July 22, 2012, our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Dora passed away peacefully at the Boyne Lodge where she received such loving care. She leaves to mourn her passing, daughter Janice Robinson of Portage la Prairie, daughter Judy Rea of Prince Rupert, son Rick (Lynn) of Miami, 6 grandchildren and significant others, 4 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Olive Stewart of Prince George and Laura Wudrick of Edmonton. Dora was predeceased by her husband, Walter in 1997 and sons-in-law, Perry Robinson and Robert Rea.

Mom was born September 22, 1917 in Miami, Manitoba to William and Alice Lenton. In 1942, Mom enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force serving within Canada for 3 years. On June 16, 1945, Mom and Dad were married and lived on the Sprott family farm until she moved into Miami after Dad passed away. Mom took great pride in her gardens and yard. She was actively involved in many community organizations including UCW, Rebekahs, 4-H, and Miami Rifle Club. Mom enjoyed quilting, knitting and other craft work as well as reading and her biggest regret was losing her eyesight to macular degeneration.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Miami Community Hall with the Reverend Allison Halstead presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Miami United Church, Carman Boyne Lodge or Canadian Diabetes Association.
