Peacefully in the early hours of October 9, 2011 Bonnie Lynne McKinnon went to her rest.

Born Bonnie Lynne Cochran on Aug 3, 1942 in Carman to Reid and Alfhild (Takvam) Cochran she is survived by her mother Alfhild, son Kevin(Rachel) McKinnon ,grandchildren Savanna and Nathan, Kevin's

father Frank(Pat) McKinnon, brother Bob(Rosalie) Cochran, sisters Jane(Charles) Peckover, Karen(Grant) Laybourne, and Leanne(Derk)Kiers as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Reid in 1983 and her son Jeffrey in May 2011.

Bonnie started her working career in her Dad's optometrist office in Carman. She then moved to Winnipeg to work at McMillan's Pharmacy in the Medical Arts Building. It was at this time that she pursued a career in singing and sang at such Winnipeg venues as Pierre's Club 76 and the Viscount Gort.  She travelled as far as Thunder Bay and Edmonton to entertain. Returning home in the late sixties she married, raised her two boys and worked at "the office". She later worked at the Carman Legion and then spent several years working at the Boyne Lodge in the activities department. She was an active hockey mom, an original member of the Sonatrice Singers, a member of the United Church choir, and a soloist at many weddings and funerals. She was proud of her two boys and her daughter-in-law Rachel and dearly loved her grandchildren Savanna and Nathan.

A celebration of Bonnie's life was held October 14, 2011 at the Carman United Church at 2pm with Reverend Harold Kenyon officiating.  Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Carman, Manitoba.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Carman Area Foundation.
