August 17, 1922 – September 4, 2011

Peacefully on Sunday September 4th, 2011, Beth, aged 89 years of Carman Manitoba, returned to her Lord surrounded by family, the caring staff of the Boyne Lodge, and the Carman Palliative Care Volunteers.

Beth was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, August Epler in May of 2003, her parents, Gabriel & Anna (Edinger) Goetz, sisters Eva (Fast) & Hilda (Davidson) and brothers Edward, Philip, Ernest and Russell.

Beth will be sadly missed by her two sons and their families-

Gary & Rosemary Epler of Sanford and their family; Corinne (Tim) Reinsch and children Nicholas and Travis of Brunkild; Steven (Andrea) Epler and children Damian, Isabella, and Mia of Sanford; David (Maureen) Epler and children Renee and Carver of Sanford.

Dennis & Marilyn Epler of Strathmore AB and their family; Pamela (Aaron) Betke and children Maria and William of Strathmore; Matthew (Erin) Epler of Airdrie AB and Daniel Epler of Strathmore.

She is survived by one sister, Margaret Suppes of Emerson and two sister-in-laws, Evelyn Gaetz of Carman and Ruth Epler of Winnipeg and many extended family members, friends, and neighbours.

She came to Brunkild and worked as a housekeeper. She met August and they were married on November 2, 1940 in Brunkild where they farmed until 1973. She excelled as a homemaker, taking pride in her cooking, cleaning, helping on the farm and raising Gary and Dennis. They retired to Carman, and for 15 years they resided in two homes built with help of family. Later they moved to 5th avenue apartments where they lived for 16 years. Beth & August enjoyed playing cards, yahtzee, cribbage and bingo with family and friends. They also enjoyed their golf games in Carman and Roland.

In March 2004, Beth endured major heart surgery and moved into the Boyne Towers and then with continued ailing health problems she resided in the Boyne Lodge until her passing.

Viewing was held on Friday September 9th, 2011 at 7:00 pm at Doyle's Funeral Chapel in Carman.

Memorial service was held on Saturday September 10th, 2011 at 3:00 pm at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Brunkild with Reverend Leslie Poulin officiating. God looked around his garden,

And found an empty place.

Then he looked down upon his earth,

And saw your tired face.

He knew you were suffering.

He knew you were in pain.

He knew you never would get well,

Upon this earth again.

He put his arms around you,

And lifted you to rest.

God's garden must be beautiful,

He only takes the best!

God saw you getting tired,

When a cure was not to be,

So he closed his arms around you,

and whispered "Come to Me."

So He gave you a rest.

God's garden must be beautiful,

For he only takes the best.
