Winston Carl Watson – November 20, 1948 to May 15, 2011

It is with great sorrow that our family announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband and father Carl.

He will be lovingly remembered and missed by Connie his wife of 40 years and his much loved sons Scott (Heidi) and Sean, and his special dog Holly.

Also left to cherish his memory, his mother Sue Watson of the Boyne Lodge in Carman. His sister Marilyn North (Bill) of Roseisle and their children Bill (Gina), Dean (April), and Kathy Blanco (Steve). His brother Dennis (Robbin) of Winnipeg, their children Carley and Chelsea (Dana). His brother Dwayne (Sandra) of Knoxville Tennesee, and Dwayne's children. His sister and brothers in law; Debbie and Jack Watt of Carman and their children Jana (Mike) Schott, Clayton (Shirley) Watt and all their children. Kelly and Bill August of Carman and their children Mark, Steve, and Lynsey (Chris). and Robert Morse of Carman and his children Megan and Graham.  Carl was pre-deceased by his father Winston in 1999.

He also leaves to mourn his passing many special cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. He knew what was important in life and always found the time for his family and his friends. Carl held us all close to his heart. He had a strong sense of family, and always tried to remain in contact. He cherished the friendships that he had made throughout his lifetime.

He spent the last 30 years of his life working for Manitoba Hydro and was preparing to retire this fall. Most of his years with Hydro were spent in Thompson where we raised our boys, of whom he was extremely proud.
We then moved to Sanford in 2001. They were good years, and he was especially proud to be inducted into the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame in 2004. He loved to play baseball, but in his later years golf became his game of choice and he pursued it as passionately as he had his baseball.

For those who wish to say goodbye to Carl his funeral will be held at the United Church in Carman with Reverend Harold Kenyon officiating at 10am Saturday May 21st, 2011. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. 6 Donald St. Suite 200 Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
