Emma volunteered for many organizations in the Carman area. She served on the Ladies Hospital Auxiliary for many years, for approximately ten years as its President. She volunteered for the Curling Club, the Golf Club and for all the sports events in which her family was involved. She was always available to help in the community in any way she could. Emma was a leader in the Girl Guides of Canada for several years. She was involved with the planning and fundraising for the building of the Boyne Lodge in the early 1960s. Her children and grandchildren were a huge part of her life. In her last two years at the Boyne Lodge she kept the wonderful staff on their toes with her wit and sense of humour.
Mom, we will miss you dearly, but you will live on in our hearts and memories forever. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial donations in memory of Emma can be made to the Boyne Lodge in Carman, Manitoba.
