Rose Ann Clairmont
Born Rose Ann Meilleur to Joseph Thade Meilleur and Hedwige Bruneau on January 21, 1917 in Fisher Branch, Manitoba. Rose was the second youngest of eight children: five brothers, Leo, Eldige, Napoleon, Armand, Raphael and two sisters, Josephine and Emerentienne all predeceased her.
She married her first husband, Edwin Winslow Sanders II on April 29, 1936 in Fort Frances, Ontario and they had five children: Francis Albert (Doreen, Deceased), Ralph Derle "Doug" (Grace), Edwin Winslow III, Roger Armand (Lana) and one daughter, Judy (Gaston) Sanders. She was predeceased by her first husband, Edwin in 1979, two sons, Roger in 1991, Doug in 2009 and great-grandson, Isaiah Sliva in 2009.
She married her second husband Francis J. Clairmont in July, 1971 and moved to La Feria, Texas where "Frank" died in 1986. She returned to FortFrances, Ontario and in 2005, in failing health, her children moved her to Morden to be close to her daughter and son-in-law. The past three and a half years she has been a resident of Tabor Home where she spent many happy hours in the garden. She passed away peacefully on January 22, 2010 at Tabor Home, having attained 93 years and 6 hours. She was a wonderful wife and mother and will be sadly missed by all of her children, 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Morden. Interment will take place at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Frances, Ontario. Prayers will be held at Doyle's Funeral Chapel in Morden, on Monday, January 25, 2010 at 7:00 p.m.
