Agatha Laura Wiebe (nee Epp)

With heavy hearts, our family announces the peaceful passing of our mother, Agatha, at the Boyne Lodge on March 18th, at the age of 95 years. She is survived by two sons, Eldon (Maggy), and Brian (Beth), and one daughter Irene (Bill Krahn), thirteen grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. Mom was the 5th child in a family of thirteen, and is survived by Henry(Jean) and Ella(Bob Adams). She is also survived by five step children and their families.

Mom was predeceased by her first husband of 52 years, John E. Wiebe, her second husband John D. Wiebe, and her daughter-in-law, Anna Wiebe.

Mom grew up in the Bloomfield district near Plum Coulee, the child of Jacob G. Epp and Helena(Martens). She lived in many places over the years, including Myrtle, Chilliwack, Kane, Morden and over various times in or around Carman. She spent the last nine years in the Boyne Towers and Boyne Lodge. The family thanks the staff of both these facilities for their excellent care and compassion for Agatha.

Mom took a lot of pride and satisfaction in providing great food for family and friends, and we will all remember her ability to make perogies, turkey dinners, and plum jam. She was very involved in the McDermott Ladies Club, with quilting and baking for the Bazaar. She enjoyed time with her grandchildren, discussing hockey and baseball, especially the Toronto Blue Jays.

We loved her very much and will all miss her. We are happy that she had a full life and was able to go to her Maker in peace. Thank you Mom and Grandma for all those good times and memories.

Funeral service was held on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Carman Mennonite Church. Interment followed at the Greenwood Cemetery, Carman.
