(Baker)

At her home in Boyne Lodge Mom slept away peacefully on January 23, 2009. Her life began on July 31, 1909 in the Lintrathen District (Graysville), MB. Her parents were William (Pa) and Minnie Jane Baker. She and her family lived on the Baker Home Farm enjoying farm life and attending school. She often spoke of the hard work and good times spent there including the dances held at the farm.

Following school she worked at Garwood's Store in Roseisle. She married Dad (Elvin) on September 7, 1940 and they moved closer to Carman where they continued to farm eventually moving to the Swanton Home Farm in the Central District. She loved the farm where she enjoyed her garden along with painting, papering and decorating her home and true to her name, she was a fantastic baker and cook. She was a lovely lady who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mom has left behind her son Jack and his wife Janey, her grandson Ross and Meghan, her grand daughter Maureen and husband Chris Lemky and "the little fella" her great grandson Alex.

Also surviving are her brother George Baker of Elm Creek, MB, her sister in law Anne Baker of Gull Lake, MB as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She was especially close to Gladys Bruce, the Nisbet girls- Jessie, Nancy and Shirley and Margaret Lynn (Bell) Swanton.

A special thank you to the Nisbet Girls, the Home Care and Congregate Meal staff of Parkview Manor, all the Staff at Boyne Lodge and Muriel Doerksen (Palliative Care)for their wonderful compassionate care of Mom.

Service to be held at Doyles Funeral Chapel on January 30, 2009. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

"Good night Mom, see you in the nice morning."
