It is with sadness that the family of Eleanor Stuart announces her passing at Boundary Trails Health Centre on Monday, Sept. 28th, 2009.

Eleanor was born on July 23, 1956 to Claire and Velma Chatwin, at Morden, Manitoba.

She attended elementary school at Roland and high school at Carman Collegiate. Eleanor obtained her registered nursing degree in Winnipeg at St. Boniface hospital in 1976.

On August 18, 1979, Eleanor and Bud Stuart married at Roland United Church. On August 16, 1984, the pride and joy of Bud and Eleanor, Nicole Lynn Stuart, was born. Bud and Eleanor were residents of Roland and worked in and around the Roland area. Eleanor was a dedicated RN who worked 34 years at Bethel hospital in Winkler and Boundary Trails Health Centre. Colleagues referred to her as a “breath of fresh air.”

She participated in many community organizations including 4-H and other numerous volunteer groups.

Eleanor had an exuberance for life that was infections. Her sense of humour, infectious laugh and wonderful smile lit up a room. She loved spending time with her many friends and large extended family including the six exchange students the family hosted over the years. Time spent at the family cabin was
particularly treasured, as were the many family vacations.

Her weekly Scrabble games with her partner Elaine were very special to her.

Eleanor was pre-deceased by her father, Claire Chatwin, in 1976. Eleanor leaves
behind her loving and devoted husband of 30 years, Bud, daughter Nicole and son-in-law Brandon Linde, grandson Ethan Conor, and mother, Velma Chatwin (Somers).  There are numerous friends and relatives - too many to list - who will miss the joy and affection that Eleanor brought to their lives.

A memorial service was held at Roland United Church on Monday, Oct 5th, 2009. Donations may be made to the Palliative Care Ward at Boundary Trails Health Centre.
