On Monday, May 11, 2009 at Oakview Extendicare in Winnipeg, Mom passed away peacefully with her family at her side.

Left to cherish her memory are her four daughters: Alice (John) Steinke, Verna (John) Hoeppner, Bernice (Bryan) Carlson, Evelyn (Arlie) Walker, and one son Lyle (Shirley) Ramsay, as well as 20 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Ronald, parents James and Ann Ramsay, six brothers and five sisters.

Esther was born January 1, 1914 in Carnoustie, Scotland. She came to Canada at the age of eight, settling in the Miami, Opawaka district.

Esther and Ronald were married August 12, 1939. They lived on the Fry homestead until 1957 when they moved to Miami. She worked in many households and was also employed by the Sewing Factory in Winkler and then Miami. Upon retiring they moved to Carman. In 2001 Mom moved to Winnipeg with family until September of last year when she moved to Oakview Extendicare.

Mom was very talented - crocheting, knitting, embroidering, making stuffed animals, blankets, dolls, and baking.

Mom was very dedicated to her family and loved to be surrounded by family and friends.

We love you and we will miss you until we meet again.
