Donald James Alexander
Age 74 years, life-long resident of Miami, MB, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, January 20, 2009.
Don will be dearly missed by Thelma, his loving wife for 50 years, their 4 children: James (wife Stephanie, and their children Avriel, Kiara and Ataija), Susanne (husband Andy), John (wife Allison), George (partner Tracy and her children), brother Neil (wife Lesley, and children Patrick, Erin and Bryan), as well as numerous cousins, extended family and friends.
Don’s favorite quote was by JFK," Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country". Don’s life was lived honoring this quote as a conservationist, teacher, farmer, councillor, Reeve and in all of the many organizations and boards that he selflessly gave hours of volunteer service to.
Don’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Carman Home Care program (in particular Bev Williment and Carol Brown), the Carman Palliative Care volunteers, Dr. Woelk and the Boundary Trails Hospital staff as well as friends and family that helped with caring for Don. All provided much support and compassion for the entire family. Thank you for being our "earth angels".
A celebration of Don’s life will happen on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at the Miami Community Hall at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any of the following organizations:
