Hazel Evelyn Froebe (Colpitts)

It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of our mother Hazel, beloved wife of the late Nicholas Froebe, on May 7, 2008 at Carman Hospital at the age of 92.

Left to cherish our mother’s memory are Frank (Betty), Paul (Evelyn), Charlie (Bonnie), Roger (Audrey), Lisa (Joe), 14 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. She is survived by her brothers, Stan (Lois) and Albert, and predeceased by her sister Muriel Findlay.

Mother was born October 30, 1915 at the family home near Sperling. She attended Tremont School. Mother and Dad were married on March 18, 1937 and settled on the farm in Homewood. During her life she enjoyed numerous activities. She served as president and regional representative for the Carman Health Auxiliary, was a member of the United Church Women and the Manitoba Flying Farmers where she was the Chapter Queen in 1961.

Mother enjoyed traveling. She had been to most USA states (including Alaska and Hawaii), most of Europe and the South Pacific. She enjoyed gardening very much and loved music, theatre and various art events. She loved life and her family.

The family would like to thank the wonderful care she received at the Carman Hospital during the last six weeks and the fantastic home care staff at the Boyne Towers and the great staff of the activity personnel at the Boyne Lodge for the last six years.

A celebration of her life will be held Monday May 12, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Carman United Church, 134 1st St SW, Carman, MB.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the "Friends of the Boyne Park" Box 910 Carman, MB R0G 0J0 for a park being developed in front of the Boyne Towers, or the "Carman Health Auxiliary" Box 274 Carman, MB R0G 0J0.
