Peacefully on August 18, 2008 at the Selkirk General Hospital, Jean Bourrier passed away at the age of 80 years.
Jean is survived by her two sons, Bob of Winnipeg, MB, and Jack (Linda) of Calgary, AB, one grandson Bill, and two step grandchildren, Kenny and Lacey. She is also survived by one brother, Jim (Belva) Wilson of Altamont, MB as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Howard and Edna, by her husband Philip (1997) and by one son Bill (1992). She was also predeceased by her stepbrother Stuart Hutchinson.
Mom was born and raised in Altamont, MB and moved to Winnipeg in 1947. Mom and dad were married that same year. As a family, we moved back to Altamont in 1964 and then to Pine Falls in 1969 where mom resided until her passing. Mom loved to play cards, particularly cribbage, with her life long friends and senior companions at the Golden Leisure Club in Pine Falls. Mom also enjoyed gardening, bowling, and crossword puzzles. Mom endured failing health in the last few years which kept her from doing the things she loved and we are thankful that mom is now free. Mom will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
Cremation has taken place and the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Altamont Community Hall. Interment will follow at the Altamont Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
