Mildred Olive May Bishop

1920-2008

Passed away peacefully at the Boyne Lodge in Carman, MB on the 10th of October, 2008.

"Millie" was born in Port Arthur, Ont. now Thunder Bay. She joined the Air Force in 1940 and during her service in MacDonald, MB she met and married her husband George (Bish). After the war, Millie and Bish settled briefly in Roland, MB and then moved to Carman. Over the years Millie was active in many community activities and was a member of the Kinettes and Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Millie will be lovingly remembered by her sons, George (Ellen) and David, granddaughter Kelly (Mike), grandsons Colton & Dallas, great grandsons Alex & Carter and great granddaughter Ava. Millie is also survived by her sisters Myrtle (George), Eva (Ray), & Jessie (Frank), as well as numerous friends, nieces and nephews.

Millie was predeceased by her husband Bish, grandson Robbie, brother Dick (Barb), & brother-in-laws George (Myrtle), & Frank (Jessie).

Funeral service will be held at Doyle’s Funeral Chapel in Carman on Wednesday, October 15th at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Catherine Waldie officiating. Interment will take place in the Greenwood Cemetery. The family invites those in attendance to a reception at the Royal Canadian Legion in Carman following the interment.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Boyne Lodge, Box 1644, Carman, MB, R0G 0J0 or to the Alzheimer Society 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Boyne Lodge for the care and compassion they showed Millie during her stay there.
