It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Irma Allison, who died peacefully at the Boyne Lodge with family at her side. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon Allison on June 2, 1955. Also by her parents Abel and Marie Renard, one sister Regina (Eugene) Palendant, brothers; Adolphe (Marie) Renard, Charlie (Jeanne) Renard, Fred (Betty) Renard, Edward (Ellen) Renard, Tony (Sally) Renard, and brother-in-law Laurent Tanguay. Also sisters-in-law Gertie (Bob) Edwards and Mary (Arthur) Crain and brothers-in-law Art Allison and Dave Allison.

She leaves to mourn her passing one sister, Lena Tanguay. Also her six children John (Joan) Allison; Leslie (Greg) Bridges, Ryan & Colin; Kent (Barb) Allison, Wade, Courtney and Tyson; Craig Allison and Sandi Levandoski, Tyler and Zayne; Ray (Bensa) Allison; Brent (Barb) Allison, Nicole and Chad; Bryan Allison, Jared and Nathan; Doug Allison and Faye McCallum, Amy Allison (Paul), Brandon Allison and Cody Allison; Lori (Paul) Payette; Shirley Allison, Heather (Blackie) Costin, Hunter and Parker; Andrea Wright, Cory, Amber and Kylan; Wayne (Anita) Allison, Andre, Brian, Shawn (Lesley); Sharon Allison; Archie (Linda) Allison, Michael, Chris and Jonathon. Also many nieces and nephews.

Irma was born and raised in Parkman, Saskatchewan and came to Manitoba at the age of 21 to work as a domestic helper in the Myrtle and Sperling areas. On October 1, 1934 she married Gordon Allison. They farmed at Myrtle till Gordon passed away at witch time her sons took over the farming. She retired to Morden in 1962, later moving to Carman.

She enjoyed reading and gardening. She loved to cook and bake. Her passion was in her handicrafts. She lived for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her one great great grandchild. She took great joy in their activities. Irma had a very good sense of humor and a very caring heart for others. She was a retiring person and shunned the spotlight. She got along well with her health care workers at Boyne Towers and the staff at Boyne Lodge and was thankful for their care and loved them all.

A funeral service for Irma was held on Friday, May 2, 2008 at Doyle’s Funeral Home in Carman with Rev. Harry Ritchie officiating.
