Peacefully Anne passed away on September 8th, 2007 at Carman Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Anne was born on the family farm at Greenway, Manitoba on September 2nd, 1926. Her parents were Harry and Jenny Strang. Anne attended Greenway school until grade 8 when the family moved to Baldur where she finished High School.

In 1947, at the suggestion of her high school principal, Anne took her formal teachers training in Winnipeg. She then taught school in Treherne Manitoba , before she married Ted Fisher in 1950.

They resided in Fannystelle for 10 years. It was while living there that their children Gordon and Margaret were born. They made many friends in Fannystelle before moving to Elm Creek in 1960.

While in Elm Creek, Anne worked in the Municipal Office with Ted and then at the High School as the Secretary. In 1968 she went back to teaching in the Elm Creek Elementary School. Anne and Ted were both very active in the Community and made life long friends. Ted passed away suddenly in 1973.

Anne moved to Carman in 1978 and taught there until she retired in 1988. In 1989 she married Lloyd Sigmar and they moved to Selkirk and remained there until after Lloyd’s death in 1996.

Anne then moved back to Carman where she renewed her many friendships from Fannystelle, Elm Creek, and Carman. Anne always enjoyed music, dancing, concerts, sewing, and crafts. Most of all Anne enjoyed people and having friends in for coffee or dining out with them.

Anne is survived by Gordon and his wife Jan, children Jenna and Kailly, Margaret and her husband Jack Pilchar, children Brent and Claire and husband Ryan Hilderman. Anne is also survived by her sisters Marguerite Lockerby, her family, and Doris Stone.
