It is with a balance of sadness, love and understanding that we announce the passing of our Mum, Grandma, Sister and Friend, Muriel Findlay. Muriel is lovingly missed by her kids Barry (Pat), Blair (Thelma), Judy and Patti. Missing and remembering lovingly are her grandchildren Christine, Joel, Shauna (Jon), Rob, Mark (Loralee), Corie, Stuart and great-grandchildren Jeremy, Daniel, Tyler, Leah, ?, and Mum’s brothers Stan, Albert, and big sister Hazel.
Muriel will be remembered for her caring, warm heart, laughter, quick wit, and outstanding cooking and baking. She loved being with her family and friends and in recent years, enjoyed living at the Boyne Towers, socializing with the residents and staff there. She loved the daily activities program especially. Muriel was born on the farm just south of Sperling, MB. Out of school she worked a brief time as a telephone operator. She met her “boyfriend” Ernie and they went together for 7 years before marrying in 1941. A stay at home mum, she cared for us and over the years was involved in many Homewood and Carman groups and activities, including 4-H, UCW, and the Carman Hospital Auxiliary.
Our utmost thanks go to the fantastic staff at the Boyne Towers, Boyne Lodge, and the staff at Carman Hospital.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 17, at 2:00 p.m. at the Carman United Church with Rev Harold Kenyon officiating. If friends so desire donations may be made to the Carman Hospital Auxiliary, Box 274, Carman, Manitoba, R0G 0J0. Doyle’s Funeral Home, in care of arrangements.
