Raymond Craig Fields
1950 ~ 2007
With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Craig Fields on September 19, 2007 at the Boundary Trails Health Centre.
Craig is survived by his beloved wife and soul mate Peggy Kirk of Morden, his loving mother Thelma Jean Fields of Winkler, his sisters Valerie Jean Watt and husband Jeff of Roland, and Lorraine Gaye Smith and husband Robin of Hillsdale, Ontario, as well as three precious nieces, Bailey Lauren Watt, Camille Riley Smith, and Simone Carmen Smith.
Also mourning his loss are Peggy’s family, Dan (Gail) Klassen of California, U.S.A., Randy (Sheri) Miller of Winnipeg, Jonathon Miller of Alberta, Rachel Sanderson of Winnipeg, and Peter Filman of Trenton, ON. He will be especially missed by Peggy’s grandchildren – Deanna, Kenny, Justin, Andrew, Alison, Nathan, Shea, Wyatt, Kodie, and Chasetin. Craig was pleased and proud to be called “Grandpa” and shared a special bond with grandson Kodie.
Craig was predeceased by his father William Raymond Fields in 1995 and Peggy’s daughter Joanne Filman in 1995.
He is sadly missed by his bird Fred and his puppies Paxton and Willow.
Craig was born on May 14, 1950 in Carman, MB. He attended most of his schooling in Roland and completed his High School education at Carman Collegiate. He received his Computer Program Analyst diploma from Red River College in Winnipeg, MB.
After a brief employment in Winnipeg Craig returned home, settled in Morden and joined the staff at Riediger’s Feed Service. At the time of his death he was employed at Detailed / Cornerstone Construction where he’d worked for 30 years. Craig had a strong work ethic and was committed and devoted to his job. Computers were his passion at work and at play.
Craig was a caring, generous and loyal friend and was loved and respected by many. He accepted and never complained about his disability and refused to let it rule his life. He was happy to have realized his dream of owning a new house which he shared with Peggy. Together they made it a home filled with love and laughter. Craig was deeply loved and will be sadly missed.
“If you get there first, please wait for me” Love Peggy
