On August 8, 2006 at the Boyne Lodge in Carman, Mary Elizabeth Pearson, aged 95 years, beloved wife of the late John James (Jim) Pearson of Miami, Manitoba died peacefully surrounded by her family. Mary was born on August 28, 1910, at Rosebank, Manitoba, and married Jim on July 2, 1932. They farmed in the Miami area and retired to town in 1966. She was predeceased by her parents Henry and Emma Watchorn, infant daughter Dianne, eldest son Clarke, and sisters Edith, Edna, and Ethel. She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter Sheila (Robert Everaert), three sons Dale (Pat), Jack (Roseanne), and Delmar (Marianne), daughter-in-law Elaine, and brother Norman Watchorn (Daisy), 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Mary’s life was a life of love and service, to family, friends, church and community. Mary was active as a 4H leader, a member of the Rebecca Lodge and active in the United Church. Mary was a great cook, superb baker, a seamstress, hard working farm wife, knitter, quilter and an avid crotchetier. Her children and grandchildren are all recipients of her handiwork in the form of afghans and quilts that she made over the years and as wedding gifts. The Red Cross was also a recipient of many works. Mom, you were the thread of our family fabric, we love you and miss you! Mother will be remembered in the thoughts and hearts of family forever. All family members would like to thank the exemplary staff at the Boyne Lodge for their wonderful care. Funeral services will be held at the community hall in Miami on Monday, August 14, 2006 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Laurie Simpson officiating. Interment will follow at the Miami Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Miami United Church, Collingwood of Miami or the Boyne Lodge PO Box 910, Carman Mb. Doyle’s Funeral Home, in care of arrangements.
