Jack Meldrum
On Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at the Carman Memorial Hospital in Carman, Jack Meldrum, aged 57 years, beloved husband of Debby Meldrum of Sperling. Jack is survived by his wife Debby, his son Phil Meldrum and friend Monika and his daughter Nicole (Marc) Bilodeau and their daughter Jourdan. He is survived by one brother Jim of Calgary, as well as in-laws, Lee and Gail MacLean, Kathy Russell, Kraig and Marie MacLean, Marnie and Ted Sherritt as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jack was predeceased by his parents, James and Marjorie Meldrum, and brother-in-laws Jim Russell and Mike Woods. Jack was very dedicated to work, family and the Sperling Community. He enjoyed his time working at the "farm." Family was very important to Dad, and none more so than his pride and joy, granddaughter Jourdan. He was a member of the Sperling Community Club and served for 30 years as a volunteer fire fighter. As a young man, Jack enjoyed baseball, hockey and never lost his passion for the outdoors, and time hunting and fishing. Sunday morning coffee at "Curdts" was rarely missed, and dad will always be remembered for his amazing work ethic. Funeral service will be held from the Carman United Church in Carman on Saturday, June 24, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Harold Kenyon officiating. Interment will take place in the Sperling Cemetery, with lunch to follow in the Sperling Community Hall.
