Aksel Albertsen

Aksel Albertsen of Morden, MB. formerly of Homewood, MB., passed away peacefully at the Boundary Trails Health Centre on April 1, 2006.

Aksel was born in Denmark on March 2, 1919 to the family of Andreas and Johanne Albertsen. His early employment included working in agriculture and at the Tuborg Brewery. Joining the Royal Scots Guards 1st Battalion, he served in Pakistan (1947-1948). On the invitation of his uncle and aunt, Carl and Minnie Albertsen, Aksel arrived in Canada in 1950. He is survived by family in Denmark and Canada. Aksel was a very dear member of the Albertsen family who spent his lifetime serving others.

A sincere thank you to his faithful friends for their many visits and to those who gave this gentleman true compassionate care.

At Aksel’s request there will be no memorial service, just your own special memory of him. Memorial donations can be made the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #18, Box 98, Carman, MB. R0G 0J0.
